This is a tabular chart, handwriting is by one person, showing rank, name, unit, where captured, and when captured. Only officers are listed The actions are from the July 1863 chase of Lee back through Virginia. Lee withdrew from Gettysburg from the west, went up the Potomac to try to find a crossing, and went across at Williamsport. The earliest action was July 10, a flanking effort in Maryland. Then once into Virginia Lee followed the river back to Sheperdstown, Harpers Ferry and they paralleled the mountain range to Culpepper. The last action was in late July at Wappings Heights which is where I 66 crosses the mountain. Federal prisoners were taken in many of the rear guard fights along this route.
