The 153rd New York served actively in the 1864 campaign including Cedar Creek.10/19/64
Civil War Database confirms he musterd in 9/10/62, promoted to Corporal 10/17/62, which was his rank at Cedar Creek when he lost his ID disc. He was not wounded, he simply lost it in this horrific battle. After the battle he was promoted to Sergeant 10/22/64, no doubt the consequent of casualties at the battle. Muster cards show sick at Frederick Md hospital July & August 1864, and he returned to duty September 20, 1864. This is the day after Third Winchester!
