Inscription: "P??IL?P??? or ??? / Philadelphia Pa / 68 Reg’t of Vol"
Location: From SE Corner north 190 inches, up 54 inches. (Picture ???)
No good leads yet. Name is really blurred but "68 Reg’t Pa" seems very clear. I thought the soldier’s name started with P but there is nobody in the "P" listing that seems likely to have been in Winchester. 68th Pa was at Wapping Heights July 23. It would be tedious but conceivably a search of all the records in Civil War data base looking for soldiers captured July 21 to 24 at Wapping Heights could yield an answer.
