Research File 42:     John N. Waitt, 13th Mass, Co B Probable

Inscription: "John Waitt / Co B 13 Mass

Note the plaster here is loose and ready to crumble, I do not think we will be able to save the inscription. Co B 13th Mass seems so clear. It would be nice to find this one even if impractical to present the actual inscription in the museum.

Location: From NE Corner south 28 inches, up 53 inches. (Picture???

This regiment was active in the pursuit of Jackson in spring 1862 and was likely present in Winchester after First Kernstown, March 23, 1862. This would have been a federal occupation, it is possible the regiment simply took up temporary quarters in the courthouse.

Military Record: Yes

Pension Record: No record found
